Petite by Slam

I’m excited to announce that in collaboration with Mark Frantz from The Foundation Fitness, we are launching a fitness program for petite women! I’ve always been active, but much of my workout regimen was centered around group fitness classes that required only a moderate amount of equipment. The equipment was usually set up by the class instructor and didn’t require heavy weights. I started to train with Mark and our training plan focused on intense and heavy lifting. Prior to that, it was seldom that I walked into a gym to train by myself and know how to use equipment and form correctly. Now that I train differently and in a more focused way, I’ve seen my body change in ways that I couldn’t have imagined. My body was in homeostasis because the way I ate and exercised was something my body was too accustomed to. I was able to take it to the next level by training intensely and eating correctly.

Petite women (5’4” and under) make up the majority of our fitness community. Being just shy of 5’3”, I am fully aware of how intimidating it is to walk into a gym that is usually dominated by men, be around equipment and not understand its purpose or how to operate it, or even the weight and number of reps I should be doing. It took me some time to understand what my body was capable of and that the only person I should be measuring myself against is myself. The amount of weight you can lift, the number or reps that you can do, that’s all relative…to YOU. It’s easy to get discouraged when you see others lifting heavier, but you have to remind yourself that the strength/power of your output is great for your petite frame. As much as you are building physical strength, you are also building mental strength. Now, I want to share my experience and knowledge with other petite women so that they can be confident in the gym and sculpt strong bodies and minds. Petite is powerful.

Our program is designed to be split into push and pull days. It will be full body focused with emphasis on the lower body. Our goal is to build strength and tone/lean your body while making sure you have basic knowledge of functional movement, anatomy and form. The exercises range from using body weight, resistance bands, dumbbells and some heavy equipment that you can find in your gym. Don’t worry about prior experience, we’ve designed this to also welcome those who are just starting their fitness journey.

Although nutrition plans should be tailored to an individual and their needs/goals, we will be providing a high level nutrition guide (macro based) to supplement training. Nourishing your body properly helps immensely with recovery. The way you eat should be sustainable and a way of life, not a temporary diet.

Mark and I have been fine tuning our program and so excited to share it with all of you. We will be launching a pilot where we will have a group of you test the program and be invested in your progress and diet. There will also be a little surprise gift for those of you. Stay tuned for updates! If you’re interested in being part of the pilot, feel free to email me! We’re excited to watch you transform into a better, healthier version of yourself!
